Montparnasse station district in Paris
The layered city goes on |
|
Team: Séverin Ho Dac
Client: Paris City Council
Context: TPFE - ENSAPB
Surface area: 15ha
Location: Paris, France
Date: 2006
This large-scale planning project aims at improving the integration of the Maine-Montparnasse block into its environment, by taking into consideration each role of this multifunctional complex.
Along nearly half a mile, the redevelopment of the district concerns all rolled into one the public spaces, the transport centre and the shopping centre combined with new housing. This urban layout intends to give sense again to the multiplicity of city levels, within a conglomerate which combines both underground and slab urbanism. |
